Fly Again

My tears freeze as they hit the ground. I lift each foot one at a time. They feel so heavy in the snow. I remember how it felt to fly above the mountains and forests and rivers with the wind flowing over my wings. But, I fly no more, I am bound to four heavy paws and a soggy fur coat stretched tightly over my rib cage. Hunger doesnt hurt me anymore but is just a lingering cramp. I turn my mind away from the hunger.
I remember clearly what it felt like to fly; I remember also what it felt like to be human. When I was human I was ignorant of all the lives Ive lived, but as an animal I always have complet
